United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - ART Initiative (Articulating Territorial and Thematic Networks for Human Development)

 

ILS LEDA collaborates with the United Nations ART Initiative, on the Local Economic Development component. Particularly, it provides technical assistance to the ART GOLD Programs, promotes and implement Local Economic Development Agencies and their network, systematizes the experiences, the  knowledge accumulated and lessons learned, disseminating  the related information. With this aim ILS LEDA cooperates with the ART Seville Office; the two units constitute the ART Service for Local Economic Development.

 
 

International Labour Organization (ILO)

ILO has been one of the main Agencies of the United Nations Human leading the support to Local Economic Development processes and the establishment of the Local Economic Development Agencies within the framework of the United Nations human development programs (Prodere Program in Central America; PDHL Programs for Local Human Development; APPI - Anti Poverty Partnership Initiative Program - Program; UNIVERSITAS Program).
From 2009, ILS LEDA collaborates with the ILO's Crisis Department with the perspective to articulate the emergencies initiatives (post-conflict or post-disasters crisis) in a framework of a long term sustainable territorial economic development through the LEDAs.
 

United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM)

The Regional Office for Mexico, Central America, Cuba and Dominican Republic is developing the MyDEL Program (Mujeres y Desarrollo Económico Local) in Central America, in collaboration with the UNOPS Office in Geneva and with the UNDP Offices of Central American countries.  ILS LEDA is collaborating with MyDEL Program in the drafting and implementation of the CSEM (Services Centers for Women Entrepreneurship).
 

 

 

 

DGCS - General Direction for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy

The General Direction for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy supports the international activities of the ILS LEDA Program and the activities realized in Albania, Bolivia, Colombia, Lebanon, Dominican Republic and Serbia in the framework of the UNDP UNOPS ART Programmes and the activities realized in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua in the framework of the UNIFEM-UNOPS MyDEL Programme.
 

European BIC Network (EBN)

EBN is the European association of the Business Innovation Centers (BICs).
In the framework of the ART and EBN agreement, ILS LEDA collaborates with EBN for realizing stable international partnerships between BICs and LEDAs, through co-development projects, aimed at facilitating joint territorial and business development related to use of innovative technologies, environment, trade, social inclusion, etc. These projects also seek to improve LEDAs' management, administration, and technical capacities, through win-win partnerships.
 

European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA)

EURADA is the European Association of more then 150 Development Agencies in the European countries. The collaboration between ILS LEDA and EURADA, started in 1998, has been renewed in October 2009 for caring out a joint program, with the aim of facilitating partnerships between the Economic Development Agencies associated to the two networks, and promoting the local economic development agencies around the world. 
 

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) - The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF)

IDB-MIF and ILS LEDA agreed to jointly participate in events (seminars, conferences, workshops) organized with the aim of sharing experiences and knowledge.
to collaborate in those countries where both ART Programs and IDB-MIF Programs operates, in order to develop projects of common interest; to jointly organize initiatives related to “economic inclusion”, that is, the inclusion of the most disadvantaged people in the local economic circuit.
 

IDEASS

ILS LEDA collaborates with the IDEASS Program (UNDP, UNIFEM, ILO, UNOPS) to promote a better use of innovation for human development within the framework of local economic development processes. ILS LEDA collaborates in the identification of the innovations, in its international promotion and in its transfer to the interested countries, together with the active participation of the LEDAs.

 
 

UNIVERSITAS

ILS LEDA and UNIVERSITAS cooperate in improving the quality of available training opportunities for human development, by organizing university courses, conducting research, and disseminating knowledge about concepts of and tools for Local Economic Development.
The coordinator of ILS LEDA is a member of the editorial committee of Universitas Forum, an electronic journal (www.universitasforum.org).
 

UNOPS Service for International Partnerships (SIP)

SIP is the service implemented by the UNOPS Office in Geneva to promote and implement partnerships of decentralized cooperation in the framework of the ART Programs ongoing in the countries.
ILS LEDA and SIP cooperate for promoting and implementing partnerships related with for economic development, in collaboration with the LEDAs which operate in the various countries. 
 

KIP - Knowledge, Innovation and Policies for Human Development

The KIP Initiative was launched by UNOPS in 2008 in order to capitalize the knowledge of various UN Agencies Programs made in the last twenty years, and currently connects various UN Agencies, including ILO, UNIFEM, UNEP, WHO and UNV.
KIP Initiative operates through Strategic Projects - designed in collaboration with National and Local Governments and with the actors interested in development - to promote and consolidate the knowledge and methodologies of territorial integrated human development, participatory and open to international opportunities.
In each of the countries concerned, the program involves the construction of components at national, regional and international levels.

In 2011 ILS LEDA signed a joint plan of action with KIP
 

iNExT Studio
iNExT Studio Professionals have been working since 2001 as a consultancy group specialized in territorial strategic planning, democratic participatory planning, feasibility studies, programmes, roadmaps and integrated projects for the sustainable development of towns and regions.
 
 

 

ECCA (Training School for LEDAs and CSEM)


ECCA (Training School for LEDAs and CSEM) was born in 2009 as a joint initiative of LEDA Morazán (El Salvador), and MyDEL regional program.
ECCA aims to meet the specific training needs which LEDAs and CSEM require to take an effective and efficient role of promoters of local economic development processes, with a territorial approach, and paying attention on the central role which women play in local and empowering economies.
Although the School is a Central American project, located in LEDA Morazán (El Salvador), it has been conceived as an instrument available to the international programs located in Latin America and aimed at human development.
The School wants to meet also the high demand for technical assistance which comes from national and local governments for the implementation of LEDA and CSEM, from an empowerment approach. 

 

ILS LEDA signed an agreement with ECCA  in order to cooperate on developing and implementing training packages, and on elaborating local economic development projects.

 

LEGACOOP Italia

LEGACOOP Italia is an association that safeguards and represents associated cooperatives.
The fundamental goals of LEGACOOP Italia are the promotion of mutualistic cooperation, the dissemination of cooperative ideas and experience, the representation and protection of associated cooperatives and other organizations so that they may consolidate and develop;
LEGACOOP Italia works for the development and strengthening of the cooperative movement, nationally and internationally; it works at the international level in the frame of the guidelines established by the organizations and agencies of the UN system for the achievement of Millennium Development Goals and by European Union institutions. 
The understanding with UNOPS foresees that LEGACOOP will work to promote and strengthen the role of cooperatives in the development strategies of the south of the world, as an important element in policies to reduce poverty.

 

Fondo Umbro di Enti Locali per la Cooperazione Decentrata e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (FELCOS Umbria)

FELCOS Umbria is a non - profit association established by Local Authorities, in cooperation with  local public, private and associative actors. FELCOS mission is to create a regional network for the promotion and practice of decentralized cooperation and sustainable human development, at national and international level.
Felcos cooperate with ILS LEDA for providing technical assistance and training to the agriculture sector in international cooperation programs.
 

ADR - Spanish Association of Regional Development Agencies
ADR Spanish Association of Regional Development Agencies was born with the aim of contributing to political and public planning and to activities aimed at promoting regional development; it is composed of 18 agencies and it is an operating mechanism created to support its members in sharing information and exploiting joint opportunities.
 
ILS LEDA with ADR and other members is part of the Platform for Euro-Latin American Cooperation of Development Agencies.
 
CTM - Altromercato

CTM – Altromercato Consortium is the second fair trade organization in Europe and it contributes to sustainable development by offering better economic conditions and guaranteeing the right of small producers and workers. The Consortium sell fair trade products in about 2000 shops and selling points in Italy and abroad.

Thanks to an agreement between ILSLEDA and CTM – Altromercato the LEDAs members of our network has the opportunity to increase the sales of local small producers.
ETIMOS

Etimos is a transnational co-operative consortium including over 280 organisations in Italy, Europe and in developing countries.

Etimos collects savings and invests in developing and emerging countries financing microfinance institutions and producers organisations. It provides its members with the tools useful to promote economic and social growth of local communities.
The Consortium also includes decentralised offices in Argentina, Sri Lanka and Senegal, further to a series of partnerships with the major players on the European and worldwide scene of finance, ethics and co-operation: financial institutions, multilateral banks, development agencies, consortiums, public authorities and large international NGOs.
In 2011 ILS LEDA signed an agreement with Etimos, which foresees collaboration for facilitating local economic development, through activities aimed at abating poverty, protecting the environment, eliminating social disparities, and favoring gender equity, through the creation, the promotion, the support and the reinforcement of local businesses, in order to accomplish shared territorial strategies for long term sustainable development.
