The 22 and 23 of May 2019 the International Seminar Human Development and Sustainability. Training of professional experts/researchers of development, coordinated by Prof. Alberto Giasanti, was held at the University of Milano Bicocca (Italy). The purpose of the Seminar was to explore the possibility of building an international system of research and training for development professionals involving universities, institutes and groups working on this topic and connected with significant experiences of territorial development in line with the Agenda 2030.

The annual Sustainable Development Festival is a big event in Italy dedicated to the 2030 Agenda, with the aim to raise awareness among increasingly large sectors of the public on the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability, in order to promote a cultural evolution in individual and collective behaviours, and to encourage bottom-up proposals that exhort the country’s leaders to respect the commitments taken in 2015 in the United Nations.

Poverty has many dimensions beyond a lack of money.
The UNDP Programme has been a pioneer in developing broader measures of poverty such as the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) that seeks to widen the poverty debate. But while work on measuring poverty is now going beyond simple income-based measures, it typically focuses on a set of tangible goods and services, without which people might be defined as poor.

The 2019 edition of the international conference AGORADA "Exploiting the full potential of social enterprises", taking place in Brussels on March 26 and 27, 2019, is dedicated to social enterprises and the challenges to face for improving their development.

On 4th February Karl-Heinz Lambertz president of the European Committee of the Regions (CdR) opened the conference "Cities and regions for development cooperation", which aims to promote cooperation for sustainable development among governments at local and regional level around the world.

At the end of two workshops held at IEAWO Resource Centre in the village of Enbek, in Enbek-Kazakh District from the 20th to the 24th of November, the local actors of the district, constituted in a "Steering Committee", have signed an agreement to create a legally recognized organization named ODAK (in Kazakh "union") to promote and support the territorial socio-economic development and a "One-Stop-Shop"
