This document outlines the RESCO questionnaire model used to assess specific Clesidra value chains in Ratanakiri, Cambodia.
in the framework of the Clesidra project, funded by the European Union, the assessment framework focuses on four key value chains: Cassava, Ecotourism, Cashew Net, and Rice. The document is structured into detailed tables that categorize indicators and variables across several critical components for each value chain:
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Evaluates competitive advantages (e.g., biodiversity, organic status), causes of those advantages, and current versus desired market positioning.
- Operational Assessment: Examines access to inputs (seeds, financial resources, IT human resources), available services (training, technical assistance), and the diverse range of sub-products generated by each sector.
- Sustainability & Resilience: Measures economic, institutional, social, and financial sustainability using scales such as High/Medium/Low. It also assesses vulnerability to environmental risks (e.g., floods, drought) and the implementation of green or circular economy practices.
- Social Inclusion & Obstacles: Analyzes the gender gap (participation and decision-making) and identifies infrastructure, knowledge, or regulatory obstacles hindering value chain development.
The primary purpose of the document is to provide a standardized tool for measuring the health, efficiency, and sustainability of these agricultural and tourism-based industries in the Ratanakiri region.
